With the holiday season just around the corner, you may already be planning your annual office Christmas party – and if you’re not you should be! You, your staff, and your coworkers have worked hard all year long, and there’s no better time to show your appreciation than the holidays.
If you really want to do something festive this year, then you may want to consider mixing up some Christmas-themed cocktails for the party. You may not want to go with single servings, as you don’t want to be mixing up cocktails the entire time, but something that you can make in batches that invokes familiar holiday flavours that are sure to please just about everyone.
So, get out your punchbowl and cups! Here are four of our favorite office-friendly Christmas cocktails.
Christmas Punch
If you’re looking for an easy, fruity cocktail recipe that will serve a crowd, then check out this Christmas Punch. Simply combine some orange juice, pomegranate juice, cranberry juice, lemon-lime soda, and white rum, add in some cranberries, pomegranate seeds, and orange slices, and there you have it! The nice thing about this recipe is that you can easily omit the rum for the non-drinkers and still be left with a delicious mocktail. This is also what makes it a great choice for those Christmas parties that involve families with children.
Amazingly Good Eggnog
What is a Christmas party without eggnog? If you don’t mind doing a little bit of extra work, then consider throwing together this Amazingly Good Eggnog recipe. The light cream, cloves, and egg yolks make for a smooth and creamy eggnog, and again you can easily omit the alcohol without sacrificing taste. Just be sure to make this once in advance, as it needs to sit in the fridge for at least 8 hours before serving.
Gingerbread Bourbon Punch
If your office likes their liquor, then a large batch of Gingerbread Bourbon Punch may be just what you need at your next Christmas party. This recipe is full of ginger: ginger beer, ginger bitters, and ginger brandy all contribute to the spicy flavor of this drink, along with some delicious and aromatic cinnamon sticks. You can even prepare this punch ahead of time – just leave the ginger beer out until you’re ready to serve (but make sure it’s cold before you add it in!).
Christmas Sangria
Trying to keep everyone away from hard alcohol and the poor decisions that sometimes go along with it? Then a wine-based Christmas Sangria may be a more appropriate option. This uses a couple of bottles of Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay along with some apple cider, apple, cranberries, and even rosemary for a delicious holiday recipe that is sure to please just about anyone at the office. Sangria also tends to pair well with holiday meals, so if you’re going to all sit down together to enjoy a feast, then this is a great alternative to just having bottles of wine on the table.
